Stripey Cats shortlisted for the Henries

Stripey Cats are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for two Henries awards in 2023.

Named after Sir Henry Cole (who introduced the first commercially produced Christmas card in 1843), The Henries were introduced by Progressive Greetings Worldwide magazine in 1996 as annual awards to shine the spotlight on greeting card ranges.

The Henries Awards are the ultimate accolades in greeting card publishing, and each year some 14,000 cards are entered! The Henries award categories span the whole gamut of greeting card publishing, from humour to cute, art to children’s and everything in between.

Best children’s range award

One of Stripey Cats cards newest ranges for 2023 Monster Mash has been shortlisted in the Best children’s range category, featuring neon coloured wobbly eyed monsters they have been a great hit with our customers.

Henry Cole Classic Award

Jonathan and his team are thrilled to announce that our wobbly eyed animals range which has been the stalwart of Stripey Cats cards from the very start (2010), has been shortlisted for the Henry Cole Classic Award – This award is for greeting card ranges that have stood the test of time, having been published for at least the last eight years. Ranges can only win a Henry Cole Classic award once and then will be added to the Henry Cole Classic ‘Hall of Fame’.

This award is usually for the big greetings card companies, so for our little googly eyed animals card to get shortlisted is truly amazing! We are rightly chuffed to bits!

Judging

The judging panel for the product categories, as ever, will comprise top retail buyers from right across the retail spectrum including specialist multiples, design-led independents, small groups, department store selectors and supermarket buyers. 

Venue

Taking place at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday 5 October 2023, The Henries 2023 awards will be full of colour and verve especially as it will take on a celebratory Mardi Gras theme!
